HRCEP14R Schneider Hotel Room Expansion Module 14IO BACnet HRC
The Schneider Electric HRCEP14R is the Hotel Room Expansion Module with 14 I/O points, designed to extend the I/O capacity of the HRCPBG28R (28 I/O) Hotel Room Controller in hotel guest rooms requiring more than 28 control points. By adding the HRCEP14R, a single hotel room control node reaches 42 total I/O points — matching the capability of the larger HRCPDG42R controller — while preserving the investment in the existing HRCPBG28R base unit.
The expansion module connects to the HRC via the CAN bus port and is configured through the same embedded web interface as the host controller, requiring no additional software or tools. It is the essential companion module for luxury suite, presidential suite, and villa applications where the standard 28-point controller does not provide sufficient I/O to handle the full complement of lighting scenes, motorized curtain tracks, bathroom automation, and multi-zone control requirements.

Applications
The HRCEP14R is specified for luxury hotel suites and presidential suites where the guest room complexity exceeds the 28-point capacity of the base HRCPBG28R. In a typical luxury suite, the expansion module's 4 additional relay outputs handle secondary room lighting zones (study area, wet room, dressing room, balcony), while the 2 additional analog outputs control a second pair of motorized curtain tracks or dimmable lighting circuits.
The 4 additional digital inputs accommodate extra door/window sensors, secondary DND/MUR buttons, or safe tamper alerts. Hotels deploying the HRCPBG28R + HRCEP14R combination achieve full 42-point room control at lower total cost than deploying the HRCPDG42R in every room, by using the 14-point expansion only in suites that require it.
